PRE-TEMPLATE

CHECKLIST

Creative & Caring Customer Service

Your stone fabricator looks forward to beginning your project with our template process. Before our arrival, please review the checklist below to ensure you are prepared for our visit.

Our template process

•Following both parties’ availability, our administrative staff will set a template schedule for the client. However, given the nature of the work, delays are always expected, so it is suggested that the client have an open window of 2 to 3 hours for the template to arrive.

•Cabinets must be permanently installed, leveled, and aligned prior to our arrival. We will not shim countertops over ¼” above the base cabinet elevation. Cabinets that are out of alignment will result in inconsistent overhangs at installation.

•If templating over existing counters, please be aware that the templater may not be able to see essential areas related to the support of the counters, and expect questions as appropriate to ensure we can accurately fabricate your countertops.

•Any vertical surface that will contact the stone installation must be installed prior to our arrival. This would include sheetrock, wallboard, finished panels, knee walls, etc.

•Stoves, cooktops, and any venting or accessories must be on-site.

• Faucets, soap dispensers, sprayers, and other accessories requiring holes in the stone must be on-site.

•Existing counters must be clean and clear of any debris or appliances.

• Please ensure that the area where your template will take place is clear of other trades during the time window scheduled for the template.

If templating over walls with existing backsplash, please be aware that the Templater may not be able to take accurate measurements of the countertops due to the unknown thickness of the backsplash, which could cause variations in the overhang of the countertops, so please wait for appropriate questions to ensure we can manufacture your countertops accurately.

• Upon completing the template, we will review the Template Verification Form with you. This form will include locations of seams, type of edge, size of backsplash, and any special requests or non-standard details that your project may require. The form is intended to confirm that the template process reflects your expectations for your project.

• If you are using a farmer’s sink or a heavy cast iron sink, it must be installed in its permanent location prior to our arrival. Please be aware that tempering those sinks may incur an additional cost because they are not conventional sinks; they generally require physical templates, which take more time to make.

If during the templating, the owner or person authorized to make decisions asks the Templater to make unforeseen changes in the dimensions or layout of the countertops that were not previously approved in the project agreement, additional costs may apply.

• Sinks and accessories provided by the customer, must be on-site. If the fabricator does not have a digital file for the sink, the Templater may need to bring your sinks to the fabrication shop.

• Our templater will take photos of the template area to aid in the project design and fabrication process.

• As the placement is largely dependent on color, stability, and size of material, final seam placement is at the discretion of the fabricator, and location may be moved or eliminated in particular circumstances.

IMPORTANT

Your presence at the template or that of your appointed contractor/designer is required to ensure that our templater can accurately capture the parameters of your project. In the event that an owner or an authorized decision-maker is not present during the template, we may not be able to complete your project during the pre-scheduled template window, and a revisit fee may apply.

DISCLAIMER

Due to the nature of the stone installation, there are inherent risks involved when transporting the stone by hand and settling it into its intended location. The material is extremely heavy, and the men are awkwardly positioned to handle it safely. There may be instances where scrapes, chips, dings, and scratches occur unintentionally. This is a norm in construction, though we do our best to avoid these situations, but if this happens, we reserve the right to correct any stone issues in real-time and to the customer’s satisfaction.
